There are a few different types of lofts to consider, dormer, velux, and mansard. The current layout of your loft and any local planning restrictions from the local authority will play a big part in the type of
loft that you can have.
When we visit you to do a loft survey, we will happily give you honest, straight forward advice about the possibilities for your loft. Following up the visit with a detailed quotation, and list of our most recent customers that you can contact for direct feedback about both the quality of our workmanship and service.
These types of lofts are the most cost effective way of converting your loft. This type of loft doesn't alter the structure of your roof line.
Velux windows are an excellent way to add natural light into your conversion. Due to the fact that you are not changing the structure of the roof, generally planning permission is not required.
This is one of the more popular types of loft conversion as it helps maximise the amount of head room that you loft can provide.
Typically the dormer is built out of the shape of the roof. Generally these types of lofts do not require planning permission.
A hip to gable loft conversion involves converting the sloping (hipped) roof, and transforming it into a new vertical gable wall.
Typically this sort of conversion turns the sloping part of the roof into a wall which is then the same height as the top of the roof.
Once you have arranged a no obligation loft site visit, we will happily give you advice
about the different types of lofts and make a suggestion for the best type of conversion for your property and household requirements.
